Not thrilled with the all in pledge.  Forces me to upgrade to a hard back, and includes the "War Party" pack which doesn't do it for me.  Especially when I am already in for one of each Continental & Brit Light packs because I didn't in their last kickstarter.

We think alike - of all that's on offer I wasn't going to go with the War Party, or any form of rulebook ... ...

But you do get the defending settlers pack free (13$ worth or more retail ) so I might just be tempted - not sure.

I'm sticking with my $160 pledge.  That way I am getting the soft back rule book, not the hard back, and not getting the war party.  Then I've added $110 for the 6 Continental packs and 4 of the 5 (don't want the marching set) British Lights from the last kickstarter, and buying up for the French and British command sets.  It may be slightly more per figure, but I'm getting what I am interested in having.

I'll keep an eye on the campaign as it closes out today, and will pick up the Brit Ranger and Highland command packs if they can get closer than they are wiht a shot at reaching those goals. However, there is no way he isn't going to make these, and eventually, one way or another, I'll pick those up as well.  And I'm already beyond the price for getting the frontier fighting family for free.

No big deal not having the hardback rules. nor the War Party.

Looks like the campaign made it past the Brit Rangers Command level, so I put in for that pack as well.  Hopefully it'll make it to the Highland Command level.

I don't recall seeing how to get the frontier family for free other than the All-In pledge

I had assumed one would pay 13$ for them as an extra.

Need to have a closer read.

I am looking at 192$ for the 4 command sets on top of my 140$ original pledge

So I was considering whether an extra 43$ getting me the Hardback Rules, the War Party and the Family was worth it?

And maybe the Canadian Command if they make it - if they include it as 'All-In'

Lon says in the comments section accessed via the main page that the Frontier family comes free with any pledge of $235 or more.

I just upped my pledge for the Highland command pack.  The campaign is now going after the Canadian Militia Command and a Native Command.  I'm looking forward to both of those, and will likely up my pledge again as the first one gets closer.  No big deal for me if the Native one doesn't happen.  But I'm not pledging if I don't see them very close to being reached.

My purchase of the 6 Continental packs and 4 Brit Lt packs for AWI is putting me well above the $235, so I'm being a bit picky, perhaps needlessly so, except paying the extra $10, and not including the War Party, moves money in a direction I am more likely to benefit from.  The soft book is good enough, especially for a rules system I might not even use much.  And can't see putting a priority on painting the War Party when I have so much else that needs painting as is.

That F&IW kickstarter really pushed hard at the end.  I have added for the Canadian Militia Command, and it is close to the Native Leaders.   And the Native Civilians aren't moving me.  Going to hang in there before pledging anymore, if any.

So that's done.  Seems like they are including the Native Leaders anyway, and probably the Native Civilians 1 & 2, all likely available via the pledge orders when that gets finalized.

This is being produced by a friend of mine ...

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/davev/devil-in-the-wilderness-a-card-based-miniatures-game?ref=user_menu

It is based on a historical error in colonial America around the time of the King Phillip's War.  Including the writings Cotton Mather, an actual guy who was in opposition to a pastor that was eventually found to be a "witch" and hung.  It is a skirmish game, with actually replicas of colonial era buildings also for sale (being made by Things From The Basement) and of excellent quality.

So I a m all in, and hoping it meets as many of the stretch goals to begin producing the line of minis as well.  Some of the figures will be fantasical in nature due to the gothic horror aspect for the skirmish game, but the human figures will easily be transferable into King Phillip's War scenarios.

The campaign in post above just made it past the first stretch goal, and the first two miniatures will be made.

Onward to the next goal for more miniatures! :icon_mrgreen:

Two new kickstarters ...

1. Following up on the previous French & Indian War kickstater by Brigade Games ...

2. Saxons and Normans ...

Already pledged for the first. The second is very tempting and likely.
