Starlight Brigade!
Now go! Ride towards the sun atop these noble steeds
You're our spandex heroes, now fullfil your destinies
And so we turned and rode beyond the castle walls
with shiny codpiece armour that doth cradle our chivalrous balls

Lindsey in 2015, doing an interview at USC, playing a guitar tune that I never get tired of hearing ...

Great Courses: Mythologies of the World.

I just left Australia behind and am now at the chapters about American myths. The speaker is exactly how one would imagine a Native American to sound. Regal, but kindly.

Happened across this video today ... it is a musician explaining why the composition of U2's "And I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" is so very darn good ...

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oT3KjbnGrhw

I learned a bit watching and listening to that explanation, and it caused me to recall that when in my early 20s how my dad once asked me if I'd heard this song.  I was fairly surprised he was listening to U2, and by that time, I'd been listening to U2 for a good few years.   I'd never ahd a "favorite" band until I heard U2, and here my father was listening to AISHFWILF.  I was a bit shocked.

However,  it is neat to know that one of my elders was picking up on the greatness of their songs.  Enough said on that.

I actually stopped listening to them for awhile, distracted by the quantity of life experiences available if we open our self to such.  Then last summer I started listening again, and again finding their art to be just as good, and better appreciated than in my younger years.  I've even been listening to some of their newer songs, and although different, still just as impressive in their mixing of music.

Exactly those. University-level courses on mythology. No wonder I liked them so much.

I finished the Great Courses and am now listening to Hyperion by Dan Simmons. It's like the Canterbury Tales but in space. Having read the original Canterbury Tales (in its original Middle English) I was hesitant to read it at first. I was like "I've read the inspiration, so why  bother?". But it's grown on me which is why I'm revisiting it now on audiobook.

The Victoria 2 soundtrack. Its by far my favorite from any, yes ANY, Paradox game. Its just so perfect. The soundtrack feels a little off because I am so used to hearing railroads and factory completion sounds which are obviously absent from the sound track as those are in game sound effects.

I particularly like Buckingham Palace song
https://youtu.be/XMtVu-ZtwEk?t=426

The Johans Waltz
https://youtu.be/XMtVu-ZtwEk?t=1090

New World Anthem just gives me chills!
https://youtu.be/XMtVu-ZtwEk?t=1483

And the Independence March! I cant help but move side to side in my chair when this song plays!
https://youtu.be/XMtVu-ZtwEk?t=1671

I could go on and on with other songs on the soundtrack, but man I just love it. Nearly every song is just perfect!

Hobbit Drinking Medley. Fun to listen to on repeat while doing dishes or dancing with the kids:

Pretty funny; I'd love an LP or EP with fuller versions of these songs, and/or other songs from LOTR...
