In order to try and set myself some definable goals, and thus hopefully inspire myself to paint, I'm trying to come up with a 1500 pt list that I can "paint toward". How does this look?

Warrior Priest, General, Great Weapon, Holy Relic
Captain on Pegasus, Full Plate, Shield, Lance
Wizard, lvl2, Dispel Scroll, Wizard's Staff

24 Spearmen, Full Command
- Detachment, 5 Archers
- Detachment, 10 Free Company
5 Knights, Full Command
5 Knights, Full Command
5 Huntsmen
10 Handgunners, Marksman w Long Rifle
10 Handgunners, Marksman w Long Rifle

2 Mortars
5 Pistoliers

I know that not having a marksman in the pistoliers and taking the long rifle are not generally considered "good" choices, but I'm doing them for fluff reasons, so they're not up for argument.

My main worry is having the WP as a general instead of a captain. It's 45 points extra, mainly just for the extra dispel dice he provides. The bound magic and the potential extra spear attacks are a nice bonus, but are they really worth it?

There's a forum made to post armylists, it's called the Parade ground I believe.

One of the admins will probably move it there in no time

Generally the warrior priest isn't worth the extra points, but it depends on you opponent.  I wouldn't field him in an army that isn't inspired by his hatred rule, buecause that's a huge point swing without that.  In that situation I think a captain would do fine and maybe if you're worried about magic protection still take the Sigil of Sigmar to protect that unit.

As for the spears, they're good on the defensive definitely.  It's your own preference though on whether you like them over swordsmen or even halberdiers.
