Very quickly guys - can a character have the sword of might and an additional hand weapon?

And how would that play out? E.g. a Captain has the SoM and an AHW making him dish out 4x S5 attacks or 3x S4 attacks and 1x S5 attack?

He could have one, but he could not use it.

BRB p. 501:
A magic weapon cannot be used alongside an additional hand weapon to gain an extra attack.

And:

A character that has a magic close combat weapon cannot use any other close combat weapon.

The only exception to this are special characters (like Marius Leitdorf) whith the Paired Weapons special rule.

Of course, if, for some reason, the magical weapon would be destroyed, or turned into to a mundane hand weapon, the character then would be able to use any additional hand weapon.

You could use a pistol for an additional attack as a stand and shoot, but you wouldn't be able to use it as an additional hand weapon, unless as stated your magic weapon breaks!
