Nemesis Scoring System - Suggested Reading
« on: May 16, 2007, 05:33:11 PM »
From the newly opened Nemesis website..

http://nemesis.uk.games-workshop.com/help/scoring.htm

I would urge you all to read it, especially the regional commanders.

If the Empire is going to win we need to know how its done.

Games against other registered opponents score more as do special events, so if anyone can get to those please do.

I'm not sure if we can actually post at specific locations however.  It looked like it was more about the score for the region.  Whatever our objectives are we need to hit that in the fluff part I guess.

In the reporting section it will give you a chance to choose specific locations on the map to report at, but they won't be counting scores for any of these. If they see a resounding amount of wins for a faction reported at that point it will be noted in fluff, but it won't effect score.

Now, i'm going to lock this because, while it is important, it's not really vital for everyone to read/keep as a topic.

Interesting scoring system that is going to rely on consistency and getting as mant reports in as possible. It looks like we are also going to have to try and convince those we play against to also report (may always be harder to persuede losing players to post but we all must try).

You'd be surprised the good in men's hearts.  Honesty and fair play always win, in the end.

It's a shame it's illegal to beat bad people to death with a shovel though.

But then again legality has nothing to do with what one ought to do.

Sure, no doubt we could do better with false accounts and made up matches, or just by "forgetting" to report matches we lose. But at the same time that isn't the type of campaign I'm interested in playing.

I think the system is setup to encourage honesty.

Does each game result count the same?

No. Each game counts for a base number of points, but you can get extra points added depending on the margin of victory and other factors. When the game report is confirmed online by your opponent, both players will gain extra points, too.

So reporting a loss still gets some points.  As long as the ratio of points before and after is better for the loosing side.

Of course we might need to see some results to confirm this after the campaign has started.
