Here's my Knights of the Golden Lion -- not the best pics.  I still have a lot more work to do on them (banner still needs a lot of work, need to shade and hightlight figs, detail faces, etc). I've got some simple conversions that are nowhere near as cool as some of the really great customized knights (Knight of Flanders and Victor, I'm looking at you), but suit my purposes.

I like them. Very neat and clean.

A few washes would make them look really good though, it looks a bit flat at the moment.

Yeah, normally I would have done the shading and such at the proper stage, but I had to get these guys ready in a hurry for a GW tournament, so it was pretty much basic colors. So now it's going to be a bit of a hassle going back to rework them up proper. (I have another 16 of them too--just not pictured).

They look good and I like the color scheme.  It is not one that I have seen before.

Thought I better add these to this thread

Had this unit of Knights Panther and decided to finish them off.   I've never really felt the 'official' colour scheme was right for them, I prefer the black and yellow/ochre of what Panthers actually look like.  I did have red trim, and I thought since nearly all my Knights would have had red trimmings, it would be worth testing a model with some blue trimmings and see how it looks.  And I think it worked better, so I've re-done the unit.

It's not obvious from these photos but, I've also used the gloss varnish on the black barding, conversly what is obvious in the photos that you don't see so well on the models is the dreaded mold lines

Here are some before and after shots

Ah very nice --- i've got a unit of the old school Knights Panther, but not as nice looking as yours.

They make those horses look like they're a bit bigger than they are which is good

They're holding they're their weapons like pencils though.

@ Agger: Half are old Citadel miniatures, half are old Grenadier.

Here is a pic from a recent Bat Rep of the Grenadier ones (though the one at the back is old Citadel)...

And a pic from the same Bat Rep showing the rear of the Citadel ones...

Does that help?

Well, just finished my first lot of Knights - Reiksguard.

The ice blue you'll notice is to tie them to the rest of my army.

And a little closer up on Ludwig:

That banner freehand is excellent.

It is freaking excellent, quality-wise. But I feel it may be a bit too realistic looking for a banner design. Doing the wolfs head in a more stylized way would fit better, I think.
But as I said, the painting itself is great!  :::cheers:::

Ninerfan, I really like your take on Kurt and Ludwig. Nice original looks to them and good poses to boot.  8-)

@Aldaris - I agree it doesn't really suit, and I am thinking of replacing it, but I can't think of what to do with the current one if I do, as I don't just want to throw something that took a fair bit of effort away

Here's my current Reiksguard. One day (when I got enough to replace the whole unit at once) they'll be replaced by 5th edition models, but until then, the added sashes and stirrups will have to do as reminders of the glory days ;)

I understand that very well... Maybe put him in a display case? You must have about a hundred of those, looking at your army in the other thread...  :-D
But seriously, the banner looks awesome, it just doesn't seem very medieval.

Here are my Reiksguard. Just need to finish a few bits, like dotting the eyes and a freehand on the banner.
