Let's keep this on the Uncharted Seas topic - take any "Thrusting" or Space games to another thread ........

I to have had another look at their website - I am sure they were at Salute and I am annoyed now I didn't get a closer look.

I notice all the starter fleets seem to have 1 x Battleship, 3 x Cruisers and 6 Frigates - does that mean those combinations are reasonably balanced?

You have to watch the quantities too - it seems you get 2 dwarf cruisers as a 'pack' as opposed to one in the other races.

There are also some different boats such as Assault Destroyers or Carriers or Transports - they are race specific and give race benfits I assume?

The Cards say 26 a set, 13 race specific and 13 generic. How do they work?

You mean they will be using Ouija boards instead of Tarot cards for their business plans from now on?

Some are spells/buffs you play at the beginning of your turn. Some are reaction cards you play when being shot at. Some are buffs you play when you shoot.

The cards have different timings, they can only be played at certain times of the game, start of the turn, during movement, during shooting etc.

Cards are not that diffrent from the old Man O War cards, its a little like geting a  random mtg card at the begining of the phase. I am actualy more excited about the prospect of their magic expansion that they claim is on the way.

Ill post a battle report in a cupple of weeks.
Itís all about Renaissance Punk.

Since they have a dragon carrier ship (aircraft carrier), I suppose they did already.

The normal elves also have a giant dragon, much bigger than the Dragon Lords dragons.

The scope of Uncharted Seas is growing all the time but at a steady pace.
At the moment SG seem to be happy to be adding different races but in time they will no doubt expand the ruleset to include a variety of new options and I have faith in them because they have done a cracking job up until now. They listen and they talk on their forum.
They ask the customers for feedback and what they would like to see and then make their own decisions.
It's all still new and friendly, I hope it stays that way.
