it has an excellent operating system that rarely crashes, but if it does, you're pretty much screwed because nobody really knows how to fix those things.

Really? My graduation wasn't sparkling or anything, just 2 speeches, everybody being called forward to recieve their graduation and then just chatting with your friends, teachers you'll never see again, talk about future plans. And of course, later that night there was the graduation party organized by the school. Followed over the next couple of days by some more student organized graduation parties. And then there were 2 weeks of sunny Italy with my (then) girlfriend. Excellent period!

We got to see our teachers drunk (again) and later they took those of us who were left to a local bar from which we got kicked out at 2.30 am. Good times indeed. The graduation itself was boring though, our school principal doesn't know "intonation"...

No, graduation itself was nice. Everybody was called forward and received a little speech from their mentor. Then they got their diploma etc. Followed by some drinks at school, of course. But it's unhappy for two reasons:

1) It was 30 degrees outside, and we were sitting with more than 300 people in a church designed for about 250. So we were sweating like otters (  )

2) It means school's over, which is kind of sad really. I mean I'm happy to go to university, but school was pretty damn cool as well.

University is way cooler than school if you are independent-minded. Nobody tells you what to do. Nobody to blame if you screw up but yourself (though people keep trying to shift the blame, of course).

Depending on your subject, the girls may be prettier, too.

Going to Uni was great for me. I went to Wageningen and I went from a little attic room at home to 16 square meters in a nice student corridor. First time we went to look at it (me and my parents IIRC, I know my mother was definately there) )there were 4 Cannabis plants on the window sill and some hard core porn pictures on the wardrobe closet featuring this big fat black chick and a purple dildo.

Yeah, the rooms had old style locks with 'fat' keys and they were a bit worn out through 25 years of use. My own key could open 6 out of the 10 rooms on that corridor, my neighbour could open 8 out of 10!! Very handy if you'd forgotten/lost your key.

LOL! I;m net moving out just yet, as I'll be studying in Utrecht, which means I'll be at the uni within 40 minutes from my house. I'll start looking for a room somewhere during the first year, around Christmas or so. Of course that depends- if I join the corps (not sure about what I'll join yet, might be the sailing or rowing as well) I'll probably try to find a room straightaway!

A corps would also make it possible to join a particular corps house (in which you'll likely start in an itty-bitty small room but progress to ever more grander as you become a house senior) this will evade the usual waiting list for renting a room or has that gone away since my brother studied in Utrecht? He had an almost 2 year waiting list and then he could get a room in the freshly build Uithof student facilities.
