Nah, that's all wrong dude. You calculate in the psychic phase. It even says it doesn't stop you shooting in the shooting phase. If you use your warp charges, you lose them. It tells you to remove them from your pool.

Rufus: I agree, they're much worse.

I split the assassins discussion from the grey knights thread into a new thread. Which I am charging 9.99 for.  :icon_razz:

Ah okay.  I thought it was shooting.  No biggie, though it does kill your own charges in 12, though it doesn't really matter since he makes people do bs and ws1 against him.

Vindicare penetrator rounds are better I think.  Old average was 14 right?  3 + 3d6.  Still clost to that average with 10 + d6.

I think what saves him is that 72" range.  He can be parked at long range now.

The phase sword one is probably the worst.  Lost those arrival attacks.

The berserker one got better.  Lots of attacks and weird shooting rules.

It was 4d6+3, with rending possible for each d6 rolled! So average 17. The longer range is nice, but 36" was OK.

That's right!  Good point.

I still like the doubled range.

I was thinking of including the Culexus in a drop pod Calgar list, with no psykers. Calgar is awesome with pods, I liked that tourney list from the other thread.

so now all the tourney winning armies can use knights, assassins and white knight bikers.  :eusa_clap:
I don't care about the rules.

Pass the machete.

I would be surprised if you see many assassins in legitimate tournament lists, though Sig's plan isn't bad, particularly against Eldar.

As for knights, one knight made it into the top ten at the BAO and no super heavy made any real impact.

Any army can use assassins or knights.

My plan won't work until the SM codex gets redone, or unless I take SW allies. Assassins can't join units, so only SW can purchase a Fast Attack drop pod for him to use.

Right, but they don't really.  I can see the cullexus seeing play, the thing is crazy hard to kill.  WS and BS 1 when trying to shoot or hit him and he will tie down enemy units with his WS, save, and no armor save instant death attacks.  Hell, deploy him at 18" and walk him up to the enemy, what will they do?  It will take a huge amount of shooting to get rid of him!

As far as hard core tournament lists, the cost to benefit ratio isn't great for these assassins.  They certainly aren't a power play.

I'd say the Evesor and callidus are actually useless. Need to reread everything, but yeah.

I can't figure any real use for the visor, which is disappointing since I want him to work.  Calladus... Annoying unit bomb?  Worse than she used to be.

Used a vindicare today.

On four turns it hit two tyrants doing 2 wounds to each, killed a venomthrope first turn, killing it and opening up a large portion of the enemy army to shooting without cover, and missed one time.

Very useful.  Probably not worth the points really, but he sat in a building on the opposite side of the map and just shot away all game.
