Day 101 of 103 & Day 76 for 2022: More organizing for the the mini Lion Rampant Tourney that I am hosting at a game convention in May, plus did some more reading of the Terrain Essentials book.

Day 102 of 104 & Day 77 for 2022: Got to watching the starting results of the Sharp's Practice game that I am involved with on-line, and it didn't start off well, although by end of turn 5 it was looking better. More to go.

Also got out my 28mm Perry British Napoleonic 95th Rifles, sorted out which figures will be together on the same bases, and began cleaning the mold lines and flash. More to go here, too.

Day 103 of 105 & Day 78 for 2022: Measured scenery locations on a table top before removing, and spreading out all my game mats for flattening and choices for some scenery types. Then got out all medieval figures and set out these into 6 different armies for loaning their use at the upcoming Lion Rampant tourney I am hosting. These will be Flemish, French, German, Italian, Late English, and Norman.

As an aside ...

Got a good bit of work on these in front of me. Need to speed paint two crossbow units, one for the Norman army, one Genovese for the French, and 4 Italian knights to fill out a unit. Plus there are various spearsmen, and maybe some halberdiers that also need to be done to fill out some foot sergeant units. Then there is the basing and rebasing, and painting updates that all need some time and effort.

Day 104 of 106 & Day 79 for 2022: Got together with 3 friends and we played an expanded version of the Bagration to Berlin scenario. Quite the fun was had.

Day 105 of 107 & Day 80 for 2022: Did some more re-reading of the Lasalle 2nd edition rules, and hunted through some back issues of Medieval warfare magazine looking for possible ideas to create scenarios.

Day 106 of 108 & Day 81 for 2022: Received and began reading a book by Charles Grant on scenarios for the Saxon army of 1756, cool stuff!

Day 108 of 110 & Day 83 for 2022: Cleaned up around 2 dozen crossbowmen for Lion Rampant units of Norman and Genovese crossbows, and dunked them ion soapy water. Also, put new bases on 6 cavalry to fill out a Flemish unit, and two French units.

Day 109 of 111 & Day 84 for 2022: Painted 5 bases for the cavalry of yesterday, plus a base for a mule and attendant. Painted two surcoats, two shields, and a comparison, plus glued on a sword arm, as I begin the process of up updating some of the medieval figures and painting 4 Italian knights. There's a ton more little things to do to get these 6 armies for Lion Rampant ready to go.

Day 110 of 112 & Day 85 for 2022: Primed the Norman and Genovese crossbowmen, as well as the pack mule and his attendant. Cleaned up 6 spearmen and dunked them into soapy water for adding to the Italian army for Lion Rampant. Have a long day in front of house hold stuff, although might fit in some more later, but will see.

And besides the items above ... picked up a couple of cans of white primer at Target on Saturday. I also went to a hobby store to pick up some more Averland sunset, plus some Woodlans Senics Buff Fine Talus for basing, some more AV scenery tufts, and a large base with ready scenic steppe/rough desert basing for an artillery base, along with a set of 4 cavalry bases with the same design by Gamers Grass.

When I got home, re-primed the Norman crossbowmen, glued some of the Talus mix to 3 Flemish cav and 3 French cav, painted some touch up flesh on 2 of the cav, yellow on a Italian bannerman on horse, plus lined up 10 Genovese crossbowmen on their bases for painting and gluing.

Day 111 of 113 & Day 86 for 2022: Painted 2 bases for medieval medium cav, and twice, because I couldn't stand the first color ... lol. Also, did first coat of flesh on 22 crossbowmen, 6 spearmen, and a mule's attendant.

Day 112 of 114 & Day 87 for 2022: After having knocked over the box lid that I had organized two units of Russian Jager into for Lassalle 2nd edition, had to reorganize them for packing into plastic bags for packing and shipping. It was quite the pain to organize them a second time. Little mood for much of anything else, so to relax I got out a new book on the 1st Day of the battle of Gettysburg and did some reading for setting up future scenarios on certain sections of the battlefield.

Day 113 of 115 & Day 88 for 2022: Painted red on 6 spearsmen's shields, 1 knight's caparison, and the leggings of 3 Genoese crossbowmen before running out of the paint.

Day 114 of 116 & Day 89 for 2022: Rec'd my copy of The Crusader States and read through the 12 new army lists provided in this Lion Rampant supplement. Tons of cool history and ideas, and quickly browsed through the scenarios, liking what I see there!

Day 115 of 117 & Day 90 for 2022: Painted a buff brown on the tunics of 6 more spearmen for the Pope's unit, and then afterwards realized that the other 5 are painted in red ... oops! Oh well, maybe this pope is slow replacing the previous clothing with others, but is being frugal with half now, half later.

10 more days to reach 100 hobbying days in a row.

Day 116 of 118 & Day 91 for 2022: swapped a bunch of shields on some medieval dudes for formulating some bases and units. Also got a cream color painted on a few more.

Day 117 of 119 & Day 92 for 2022: Put flowers and other tufts on 2 sets of Flemish spearmen, plus painted backs of some shields and touch up some flesh and brown colors too. Painted some blue and green a good number of Genoese crossbowmen, some tan on them and some Norman crossbowmen as well. Began organizing my 6 Lion Rampant armies into their storage draws.

Day 118 of 120 & Day 93 for 2022: Two more colors on the Genovese crossbowmen, two on the attendant of a mule, and repainted 5 cavalry bases for matching to their compatriots. Also got in a game of Twilight of The Soldier Kings.

Day 120 of 122 & Day 95 for 2022: More more reading of a scenario book for small scale ww2 skirmishes, proof reading of a QRS, and basing for 3 Norman knights to fill out a 6 figure unit for Lion Rampant.

Day 121 of 123 & Day 96 for 2022: Organized some more for the upcoming Lion Rampant tourney by finishing the placement of the figures for each army into their trays, and also preparing for my Civitate game for an upcoming game with some friends locally. Also, more reading of the WW2 scenario booklet.

Day 122 of 124 & Day 97 for 2022: Painted bolt gun onto the Genovese crossbowmen helmets and armor pads on knees and elbows, plus the same on 4 Italian knights, and 6 more Pope's spearmen, including the metal pieces on their shields.

Day 124 of 126 & Day 99 for 2022: Played in a wonderfully joyous game of Lion Rampant with friends. These are the days that do not try men's lives. They enhance life in a way that is understandable if you've got a hobby that allows for the socialness possible with good people.

I also got in a wee bit of painting.

Wasn't sure I was going to make it today. Had an allergy attack and was down and out for most of the day. Got trhough it and painted some bolt gun on chain mail shirts, and a few crossbows as well ... Day 125 of 127 & Day 100 for 2022. Probably not the best way to celebrate 100 days in a row, but got it in, and have decided I'm going to see how long I can keep this run alive.
