Someone elsewhere recently was talking about that, and how the offhand reference was mostly that their homeworlds were being invaded by the Tyranids. And then just never brought up again. Perhaps these are survivors, or they managed to hold out for now.

I think I've told this story before a few times.
In the late 90's i had a friend who swapped his Epic Squats and Chaos dwarves for a copy of Goldeneye and a packet of Pokemon cards. He's been regretting it ever since.

Yep, so far that's the only full picture I've seen, although I did see some sort of picture with the other four figures being hidden in shadow, so to speak.

That's why I am guessing these will be started with a Killteam squad, but I could be wrong.

Also, I did some digging and it seems that the "Tyranids ate the Squads" thing was an offhand remark by famous babbler Jeremy Jarvis. He tends to wax incoherent a lot.

Space, the final frontier, it is after all a big place. Being small of size, but not in stature, perhaps they weren't all found, eeked out a further existence somewhere, and they have arisen again to be competing for ... space.

They seem to be 'Primaris Squats' - a head taller than their 90's brethren, long-legged, and with more shoulders than belly. A bit like Fyreslayers or Kharadron Overlords compared to the now vanished real Dwarfs.

Perhaps their backstory is as splintered too.
