This video has some gorgeous shots in it, ... and not just the lady who is producing it ...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ony9b-ZKgac

By the way, I like that back pack :icon_exclaim:  Might have to look those up.  Plus the opitics of the cameras used to shoot this have done a good job!

So scientists are saying this volcano could go on for many, many, many, many, many, many ... as in maybe over 100 ... years. :icon_eek:

Video from today ... appears at one point to be the south end of the volcanic area, with the flow seeming to head south into the lower valleys, and the edge of the ocean seen on the horizon ...

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzqEZBV7ZX0

Also, there are reports from scientists that seem to suggest there are other areas near buy on this peninsula in Iceland that could also start erupting as the plates continue to slowly separate, including potentially under the capital.

Here is another episode from the Icelandic reporter that has been covering the volcano craters ...

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=120EFYoS5eo

... apparently at the south end of things initially and showing a fly over of the south end crater that has cooled to the point where it isn't flowing lava currently, while later on addresses how volcanoes cool the global temperature and not warm it up, and then shows that the north end crater, the first crater has cooled and not flowing as well.

One of the craters overflows with lava unmaking one side and remaking it, as it unleashes lava, and the other craters around it are flowing as well ...

This is a video of the lava pouring down thru a small valley and towards a van used by security, scientists, or rescue workers ...

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZrKjD2krjs

It shows how fast the lava was moving towards that vehicle.

It has been reported today that the volcano in Iceland currently has only one crater with flowing lava, down from the nine craters of 2 weeks ago.  Evidently the pressure is the same causing the flow to be faster.  And apparently there is another fissure developing very near by.

The one crater flowing lava was sending it 40 to 50 meters into the air today.  An the recent map of the area is now showing that the southern flow is close to meeting up with the northern flow, and this will cut off access to one of the 24 hour cameras.  It seems the lava will likely reach the ocean faster than originally speculated.

This guy has been fairly steadily putting out videos with data, and not just video, this time info on the flow of the lava currently and since it is at its highest so up to now, folks are getting concerned about it reaching further south faster than originally thought ...

The earth retaining as of May 18th to slow the advance of the lava towards the main highway and the sea from the most southerly flow of lava so far.  Apparently they are hoping to have the lava flow go in a different route to the ocean, and further to the east of this location shown in the video ...

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcnPP2cZgBk

The eruption from over the hills side is also quite the interesting perspective shown towards the end of the video.

Here is another video by the same guy above, taking film of the volcano, and comparing it to the size of people watching it from a hillside ...

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YePVyqLEJvQ

This is the largest the crater has been since the beginning, and evidently is only going to get larger since scientists are measuring an increased lava flow from it currently.
