What AOS armies do you play?
« on: November 09, 2020, 11:56:48 PM »
Humor my curiosity. As it stands, I have...

Approx 2k points of Fyreslayers, fully painted and based.
Approx 3k points of Flesh-Eater courts, 1k points worth are painted and based.
Approx 3k points of Stormcast Eternal heroes, of whom only about half a dozen characters are painted and based.
Approx 2500 points of Blades of Khorne, barely painted or based.
1k points of Cities of Sigmar, half painted and based.
Less than 1k points of Lumineth Realm-lords, barely painted or based.

Once I'm further along on these projects, I'd like to get into Sons of Behemat- but that's easily a year or more down the road.

I don't play anything at all anymore.
AOS. WHFB. anything.
I don't have any round based models other than war machines, fanatics and giant squig things.

Primarily life got in the way.

We have a few gamers here though who do.

Gloomspite- 2450 pts
Dispossessed- CoS - 1890 pts

Have a Tzeentch army of 2500 still in wfb but maybe converted to AoS

One of the very few here who really like AoS here.

War Cry is Age of Sigmar GP! Also wowzers, I didnt twig you were up to three warbands in Warcry!

I probably have a ton of Age of Sigmar stuff if I'm using old fantasy stuff, but I'm going to focus on new stuff. I long ago kind of moved away from collecting armies and instead collect warbands and slowly growing collections of whatever looks appealing.

So I've got a:
Smallish Fyreslayer warband
1000pt ish skeleton based army
1500 pt ish Night Haunt army (I love Night Haunt)
A big ish Stormcast warband that I've never properly totalled up the points for.
Some random elves of various flavours.
The Kharadron Underworlds warband.
Some random trolls, monsters and goblins.
2 Daughters of Khaine, courtesy of the recent free model thing.
However many points the Khorne army from the starter set is. 1000 ish maybe?

As Gankom said, it still counts. Technically, all those warbands have AOS Warscrolls too...

Cities of Sigmar (Empire) a little bit rebased, lots still as WHFB
Stormcasts
Blades of Khorne (a bit more then the starterset back in the day)
Seraphon (also very little stuff)

Not doing anything with them atm as my focus is on WH40k.

That's quite a spread, damn! How do you find Devoted and Dispossessed playing after the CoS book drop?

I hear that. After Animosity II this summer, I finally burnt out on AOS and went all-in on 40k for the first time in four editions. I drifted away during 5th and didn't get pulled back in until 9th dropped this summer.

I love the aesthetics of the devoted but they die like good martyrs 😺
I haven’t played the enough to find their true strengths/weakness. The dispossessed are just recently finished so I haven’t fielded them yet. I’m going to concentrate on gaming for the next bit after the chaos is done. Building up a good narrative and then it’s all bashing.
AoS allows the freedom to use all and everything in a way wfb didn’t. That’s the biggest joy I think.

I've been mostly focusing on Star Wars Legion lately. However, I am working on painting up my old Warhammer Quest stuff (Silver Tower, Hammerhal).

Right on. I've played Silver Tower quite a bit and enjoyed it; alas, my Hammerhal set is still sitting undisturbed in a closet.

So I guess I could field a Tzeentch Army if I had to. But I don't even have an army book yet.

I am loving taking the Underworlds warbands as a base, adding a unit to get a War Cry sized forces, and then slowly expanding it into a legal AoS army. By that point the Underworlds folks all get promoted to heroes or unit leaders.

Very nice. I have been snapping up Underworlds Undead.

A part of me would love to pull the trigger on Idoneth Deepkin, but I haven't yet.

I hear through the nerd vine that the Deepkin are getting an Underworld warband sometime in the early new year. Might just be the trigger needed!

I'm currently working on a Troll army. I have enough models to field an 2000point force.
Maybe not the most competitive, but he the idea is cool :-) They are mostly metal models.

Then for Warcry, I have a Gloomspite warband and an undead warband. Maybe I'm going for some Khadorn Overlords to.

Blades of Khorne 2500pts + room to summon
Orruk warclans (bonesplitterz) 2500 probably with a bit of room to spare
Gloomspite Gits (squigs) 2000 plus a vast amount of moonclan grots which could probably drag me up to around 5k if I were to utilise them all.

I can’t quite bring myself to use my old world Marienburgers as a ‘city of Sigmar’, the very idea...  :closed-eyes:
