revised army list

(1/1)

cisse:
Hello all!
I am currently trying to optimize my army list. I've been using a list like this for some time now, and some of you might remember the first incarnations of it (but then again, even I don't, so...). What I'm especially looking for is opinions about some tough choices I still have to make. Thanks in advance!

Now...

Are the IC knights worht it? In my previous lists, I've been using a unit of them with a warrior priest, and they are great against hated armies. But will they perform well enough without the priest? After all, it's a serious investment in points. Should I be better off taking a unit of vanilla knights?

I normally don't use magic; but with this combe I'm hoping to take part in that phase of the game as well. Again, is it worth it? I could drop the wizards, and take a plain old scroll caddy.

If I drop the IC and the wizards and take vanilla knights and a scroll caddy, I save 256 points-enough for another unit of swordsmen with detachment. Would this be a better investment? Or would it be a more versatile list as it is above?

Phew... Well, thanks if you took the time to read through all this, and any comments are welcomed. Cheers!

wissenlander:
If you're facing a magic heavy army, then the wizards are fine.  If not, then maybe more troopers would be worth it.  The IC Knights are a nice touch with that strength, but if you're using them for flank charges then they'd probably be alright as a vanilla unit.  I hope that helps a little.

Janus:
Drop the Counts Holy Relic and shield and give him armour of meteoric Iron.. That saves you about 16 points.. and you'll have a 2000 pts list :)
Also your count doesn't really need the Relic IMO.

Inner circle knights are good! 1+ saves and strength 6 on the charge.. You just can''t say no to that. Maybe remove the magic banner or replace with the steel standard.

It could be worth it.. depends on the opponent though.

I quite like your list.. I'm not a fan of using DOW but that's just me..
