I was going to post this in the Soap Box but most of the Forum Traffic ends up here.

In planning a major site overhaul this weekend I wanted to add a links subsection to the community page.

The categories will be:

Marketplace
Galleries
Other Warhammer Race Sites
Other Empire Sites
Modelling and Conversions
Terrain Building
Painting Guides

If I'm missing a category that you think should be included please let me know.

Please respond to this post with links to your other favorite warhammer sites and a small description.    Example:

Warhammer Players Society
http://www.players-society.com/
Possibly one of the best warhammer communities on the net.

Please reply with the suggested format, it will make it much easier for me to cut and paste these links into a permanent document.

@ImperialForge, I have you down for a link in the community,  I'm relying on you to submit some of the great links you manage to dig up while you're websurfing.

The White Tower
http://home.swipnet.se/~w-13090/index.html
A wood elf site but also has a few good gaming articles.

WOLFENBURG
http://www.wolfenburg.com/
A way to waste a whole afternoon when there is no one else to play a real game.

Portent; the empire thread
http://forums.portent.net/showthread.php?s=8cfd85fbebfea4bde05c19a5ade88fb8&threadid=134242587
The empire thread is good reading.  It is very long, but has a lot of info.

The pyramid vault
http://s1.invisionfree.com/forums/Thee_Forsaken_One/index.php?act=idx
A lizardman site.

Path to glory
http://cn.games-workshop.com/news/cn/articles/PTG_CA/home.htm
a site for rules for all the races.

Hope these help and are not repeated too many times.

Cheeky one, but how about a section for links to clubs people play at? if so:

Edinburgh University Wargames Society
http://www.eusa.ed.ac.uk/societies/wargames/
Open to any adults in Edinburgh, students or not. Generally friendly (except when Steam Tanks are concerened)

(FYI, we can only accept adult non-students due to licensing in the venue we use. Yes, that means beer is available during gaming :D)

The Blood Keep
http://groups.msn.com/thebloodkeep
One of the few active Vampire Counts sites. The site is hosted by MSN and is ugly as sin. A good match for the vampires?

Bugman’s Brewery
www.bugmansbrewery.com/
You got Dwarves for days? Bugman puts a week on it. The Brewery is everything that Ulthuan is not: Plain to look at and extremely useful. You’ll be a graybeard by the time you read all the content.

Druchii Dot Net
www.druchii.net
The single largest race specific Warhammer site on the Web. The site covers every aspect of the Druchii and is a model for other sites to aspire to. Like many Dark Elf women it can be hard to read at times.

Ulthuan Dot Org
www.ulthuan.org
The dominant High Elf site. It is down at the moment for server repair, but this is a good thing as various issues had made it one of the slowest race specific sites to navigate. Like the Elves, the site is pretty to look at (and of questionable use).

SCRIVENER'S CORRECTION: Now use http://www.asur.org

Wargames Foundry
http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/main.asp
Produces many excellent ranges of high-quality miniatures. Pay particular attention to the Swashbucklers and Renaissance ranges that are perfect for the Empire.

Edit: Removed the Lizardmen link as it had already been posted.

This is a generic miniatures forum, so I'm not sure where you'd want to put it, if anywhere: it covers all GW games, plus any other minigame you can think of, Historical, Fantasy, Scifi, plus it has painting / modelling sections, plus a couple of professional miniature sculptors hang around there too...

"Chris: Here's a good one, One evening late I was primering some figs, when I finished, for some strange reason I carried my primer can upstairs. Without thinking I placed it on my wife's dresser. She leaves for work around 4:30am. She usually does not want to disturb me, so she gets dressed mostly in a dark room. I sorry to say that I heard the rattle in the can too late, as she thought it was her Anti-perspirant. "

The Hammer and Anvil - a forum dedicated to developing current GW rules and players own rules, which upon reaching a standard approved by our admin team are given a seal of approval, as designed by Xini :P We're strict on this, the site is now fairly established (about five people over 100 posts), but no seals have been awarded yet. This is an articles site as well as a forum, so if you reckon you have articles worth posting or want to look at the ones Ricold has put up, another reason to come along:

http://www.lightalliance.co.uk/hammer/portal.php

The following is to what I believe is the first and only forum dedicated to Nippon, probably the most popular race not to have a GW list. The most popular thread on H&A is the Nippon List thread, an old project that has nearly reached version 7.0, which will be left just to playtest for a few months whilst fluff, artwork, etc, is expanded. The site is as yet incomplete, but will definitely grow, and will house the list, expanded rules (variant lists, special characters), stories, fluff, a chatroom, other articles like tacticas, and a forum:

The best invisionfree-site on the net. We have members interested in every little thing (GW-related and not GW-related). We have just had our 1 year-anniversary.

I have struggled for a long time with my movement trays. I know there are several articles around about making them yourselves, but my attempts have either involved something flimsy or something that warps as soon as I apply some green paint to try and match my tabletop colour.

Donnachaidh bought some at this year's Salute, and gave me the link as he was pleased with them.

I have now bought some of their plain ones which I think I can manage to base myself.

They are made from resin, so nice and solid and warp free, fit the GW bases nicely, and for those of you who have struggled to make your own, and also want to spend your hobby time on other aspects I think they are quite reasonably priced as well.

The link is straight to the rectangular movement trays, but they do other stuff as well.
Nice product.

A friend of mine sent me this link:

It's a site where you can draw diagrams of your battlefield. A very useful site for writing battle reports and it's very easy to use.

I do not own the site. Just thought it would be nice to share with my fellow generals.

In spanish

http://elforo.de/guttburgo/index.php?sid=ae9341790a1e618ab2251cc909530338

La ciudad de Guttburto (The city of Guttburg) is a forum where races all over the world of warhammer are welcomed.

Such a diversity causes ummm (how to say in a proper way) some "problems". The civil wars of this forum are very famous and almost a tradition. But we have tons of fun
