=============================
AL VHS BW OgBl ICI HA OpAm 228
==========================
Van Horstman's Speculum, Barded War Horse, Ogre Blade , Iron Curse Icon, Heavy Armour, Opal Amulet,
It's the 3+ AS, 4++ against the 1st wound, Strength 6 Van H character hunter !
Boom ,
Roll in with 20 IC Knights and my AL,
Sniff out the enemy Lord, swap stats and nail him with my Ogre Blade ,
I think the Opal Amulet is under rated
:mrgreen:

I think the Opal Amulet is under rated
15 points for a 4+ against the first wound or 5 points for a 2+ ward against the first hit.
-
opps what's the 5pt option again?
-
Charmed Shield.
-
Charmed Shield isn't a Ward Save, it ignores the first hit on a 2+. I find the Arch Lector setup for my games an interesting one, at the moment with Warriors of Chaos coming out, Daemon Princes will be seen a lot and apart from Cannons there's nothing that can really answer a tooled up Prince.
Issue I have with the AL is spending nearly 250pts on a character, that unless it gets into a another Character doesn't seem to earn his points back. You have to protect him too, Opal Amulet is rubbish for me, I'd rather just take a constant 4+ Ward instead for an extra 30pts.
I'd run him with VHS, Heavy Armour, Barded Steed, The Other Tricksters Shard, Talisman of Preservation, Great Weapon, Charmed Shield/Shield/Enchanted Shield/Dragonhelm.
-
It's effectively a Ward save, as most attacks in the game can't Wound if they don't hit.
And an Arch Lector can easily answer a Daemon Prince, thanks to Van Horstmann's Speculum - you likely won't kill him, but he can't charge you because he'll be tied up for most (if not the entire) game.
-
Even without the charmed shield, why not give him a mundane one? It doesn't seem to clash with any of your other equipment, and a 2+ is a huge advantage over a 3+.

ah yes true dat!
