Title: war altar questions, used it for the first time tonight
Post by: thundercake on March 07, 2013, 04:11:02 AM
So, I put a Arch Lector on it. He was my general.

I was playing a troll army, his horde of trolls charged my horde o halberds (thank goodness for the battle prayers from the WA, but I FORGOT hatred). Anyway, Throgg has to challenge, so he kills me champion, then he kills my captain in a challenge. I charge in my war altar, dont forget my hatred and do great with the impact hits , arch lector hits, etc.

Next turn, he challenges again, I accept with my Arch Lector. He vomits all over me. This is where my questions come in. He can allocate attacks to the AL and the War Altar right?

Question two, the War Altar's ward save does not transfer to the AL, right?

Question three, if the AL dies, the War Altar stays right? And gets it wonderful, two horse attacks, right?

That is how we played it, did I do anything wrong?

1. I believe this one is right
2. Yes
3. Yes

Everything sounds right to me, I don't use mounts like that myself but the people I play against like to throw them in all the time.

thanks,

and

the riderless altar managed to hold his troll mega unit (what was left of it) for 3 turns. Which allowed my halberds to rally and inch from the table edge. I won the game by about 300 points so if he had gotten the points for the halberds it would have been a really close push one way or the other.

So basically, magical ponies won you the game? That's good to know.

That and his demon price epically miscasting to lose all his spells and speed of light allowing the greatswords to kill the demon prince.

I am not sure about allocating attacks to the AL AND Altar.  It is one or the other per combat phase.  I am not sure of any rule where he can vomit on one and attack the other.  He must choose which he is attacking in each round of CC and put all his attacks towards his choice.  Is that what he did?

If the vomit attack is a breath weapon then it's distributed as per shooting right?  So you'd have to randomize between the war altar and lector.

yes the vomits attack would be randomized 1-4 on Alter 5-6 on AL
his normal CC attacks can be targeted as his choice
and both the Alter and AL must be destroyed for him to get the VP for both.
the rest has been answered
