selecting head aftermath
« on: March 25, 2007, 11:54:30 PM »
Based on the help I recieved from you guys on my previous thread I was inspired to pick head number 3 and trash my conversion completely since it didn't even raise a brow  :-D

This conversion ought to bring out the reaction I want...I hope...

Did your general turn that Wood Elf into a hand puppet?

(For the Elf's sake, I sure hope not...)

On a serious note, this pose is by far the better one when compared with the stances found in your original post.

Cheers!

thats awesome. The only criticism would be to have the hammer leaned on the ground, it kinda looks like he is holding it just above the ground. Can't wait to see painted version.

Sorry, but this whole 'lifting people up from the ground by their throat' is just too chaos for me (unless he had Bear's Anger cast on him and he doesn't look angry like a bear!), even if it's just a lithe elf.

A goblin would be ok, but an elf, while in such a pose (not a more firm stance, braced back etc.) just looks too unrealistic.

BAH you're absolutely right... I have allready remade him completely and I think I'm quite satisfied with the results. Instead of spamming WIP pictures I'll show him when he's all painted up.
cheers

"Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch?!" Gotta love the Chapelle show!

While its a nice use of parts, I have to agree, choking people by elevating them off their feet with one hand round their throat is a bit of a "bad guy" thing in my mind, while not impossible for a member of the Empire, I think it's more fitting for bulkier characters from the legions of doom!

Should still look nice when its painted!

Cheers,

Dante

Presumably because we are human and therefore would support human interests, which would as a result be "good" in our eyes. Bad guys rarely stop and consider "hey wait......am I the bad guy here?!", they tend to just be looking out for their own interests. With the exception of traffic wardens, they are consciously aware they are bad guys and just look for every excuse to let the whole world know it!

Cheers,

A good question is what happens if the forces of Chaos takes over the Warhammer World?

What would happen if all taint of Chaos would be destroyed?

Which of em, is better for who? And what would "The Greater Good" be?

Many times it is idealist fighting for what they see as a good thing, though it may just be a twisted and screwed up thing...

Another thing is, that if a man sacrifises himself, to save his nation, what will he be saving? A bunch of people, who will use their entire lifes talking about how to make weed taste like cheese, or perhaps just commen thieves and bandits living in the cities/lands that they protect?

It isn't really a commen goal which is good, but the individuals who are, often some psychos joins armies just cause hey, then they get to shoot a weapon- while some of their brother in arms belive to fight for their homeland- which they see as Paradice--- which just happens to be nothing unique really....

The world is how every person choses to see it, and it is hard to say what is good, and what is bad, as most have a different oppinion.

The elf hung from the bloody fist of a Ltd Edition Games Day Chaos champion from a few years back.

As for the model and his evil tendencies...

Estate Agent - definately. You can tell by the hair.  :biggriin:

It'd be a pretty boring game.

What would happen if all taint of Chaos would be destroyed?
We could still pick on the Brettonians.

Which of em, is better for who? And what would "The Greater Good" be?
Sigmar and the Empire! And the concept of the Greater Good can be found widespread amongst a two-toed, blue faced alien race, who prance about muttering to themselves about equality, compassion, and something called tolerance.

The world is how every person choses to see it, and it is hard to say what is good, and what is bad, as most have a different oppinion.
This clearly goes against the teachings found in the Holy Book of Sigmar.  Such heretical beliefs cannot be tolerated in this Sigmar-fearing land.  Call forth the Witch Hunters!

In all seriousness, these are good questions.  Perhaps to be discussed in a new post?

Cheers!

i think in warhammer its best to look at things as just black and white. that way we can have the awesome struggles of good vs. evil.

as for the miniature, looks good for a show piece but not for a captain to use in battle.

It's a cool idea, i agree a little orcish or chaotic perhaps, but it looks good none the less. I think the whole thing would be better if you turned the poor hippie into a dark elf though

I think that the Empire fights the Wood Elves quite often, considering that they are neighbours and certainly not in friendly terms.

Model is actually quite cool, though I'm not sure whether it would look good in a unit.

I like the model and if I get another hail of doom arrow ger maximum hits on my swordsmen again I would happily use it as my general
