Good................is he still 300 points?  I won't be happy unless his cost stays about the same.  But I am very upbeat on this news you have provided.

Also, thanks for digging for all this info.

About time Luthor's rules were improved. Fear-causing with unit strength 3? Bound spell at level 4? That's why I didn't buy the model yet.

I'm starting to look forward to 7th edition...

Yeah, Luthor was really overpriced for a glorified arch lector.  i always loved the fluff though, and the model is terrific.  Balthasar Gelt was a much better character game-wise.

LD dropped to 8.
Looks to be some better Special Rules too.

I agree the model is terrific, but he was way undergunned for the price. Fluff was probably the best of any special character in the entire game. Hopefully he will come back as hard as nails and cheaper.

According to the latest rumours nicked from warseer, Luthor Huss will take a single hero choice. So, apparently he will not have lord level stats either, thus Ld8 and major point decrease.

Stats have changed:
1 less W
1 less I
1 less At
1 less Ld

Ouch. Poor Luthor, Valten's death must have taken a toll on him.

It sounds ok,

he really is my favourite character, background was brilliant, rules Blah Blah... nice model.

As opposed to balthasar gelt, spew on a winged pony, IMHO, but he had some awesome rules!

Valten was pretty cool, the character descriptions from 'Mark of Heresy' were very good, actually made me like him...

James Wallis paints a very good picture of Huss as well!  :biggriin:

I don't mind the fluff for Balty Gelt (although I know some of youse prefer Thyrus Gormann), but the model ain't so hot... especially the "My Little Pony" pegasus.  His ruleset though is awesome, given that he can avoid miscasts and get IF so easily.  I've always wanted to use a "Counts As" version with different lores of magic, just for the heck of it.  The lore of shadow would be nice... although the new lore of metal looks like a a lot of fun too.

The item that helps him avoid miscast / get irresistable is the staff of volans, which Thyrus used to have (the item which the Supreme Patriarch carries). Part of my dislike for Gelt was
1/ Lore of Metal was pants, seems a bit better now
2/ I want to field my Wizard lord in a unit
3/ Thyrus' rule for Flaming Sword of Rhuin rocked!!!
4/ The pegasus was such a *&%%^#^)(_(O^&$^%#^%%&*^*&*^ model
5/ Thyrus is a cooler name
6/ I have always thought Fire was the best Lore you could get (fluffwise) simply because it is so very destructive and raw, and the Supreme Patriarch deserves to be powerful, and the Lore of Metal seems to subtle, lacking the awesome force of fire...

Don't forget that the new *improved* Luthor Huss has a wimpy +1 Str great weapon, since he's mounted.  Good lord, the new empire is looking sorrier and sorrier.

The biggest problem I had with taking him was the 2 hero slots.  Going down in points and only using one hero slot will greatly increase his chances of appearing in my army.

Always been a fan of Balty. Although my experiment on painting his Pegasus lead it to being named "Colgate". don't ask. Looks better now, and my opponents hate me when I put him on the table.

Huss is a single hero choice at a points value less than 200 points

He has the same stats as a Warrior Priest and Causes Fear...but I forget what else he has that makes him special...

Who cares are Huss...Volkmar is back, and meaner than ever!

About Volkmar wasn't he rezed by a daemon how can the people actually trust him and on the same argument was there a new guy in the place of volkmar to be the ruler of the church of sigmar??

the new guy is Johann Esmer, I hate him with a passion.

There have been several attempts at his life, *Keepers of the flame* Stefan kumansky novel written by Neil McIntosh and *sacred flesh* an Angelica Fleischer novel by Robin D Laws.

In general he is not the most popular theogonist, most preferred Volkmar. It was the support of the corrupt money hungry archlectors managed to get Esmer the support vote.

this was why Huss went off on his own... he was truly loyal to Volkmar and the church's true ideals.

Huss will accept Volkmar back, no question, as will the general public. Even though Volkmar seemed to go missing in the final wrap up of SoC, but that whole campaign was a debacle, Crom was left standing at the borders of sylvania, and that was the end of his campaign, he just dissappeared as if Gav had clean forgot about him.

I am mostly interested with the NEB to see how they are dealing with current political clashes, Volkmar vs Esmer, and Church of Sigmar vs Church of Ulric for controll of Middenheim. (*Day of the Daemon* by  Aaron Rosenberg)

There is also the public cry for Huss to replace both Esmer and Volkmar, and become theogonist himself after discovering and supporting Valten.

Seems to me that Volkmar was resurrected by Belachor and basically crucified on a standard or something wicked like that.  He is only left alive by Belachor's magic so he can just kind of lay there squirming in pain as a sign to his enemies that 'face beating' is about to commence.  Poor old chap.  So how is he comming back again?

Maybe GW are going to tell us that Storm of Chaos was just a dream..............

Honestly, they cannot get anything right at the moment, the background for the entire world we use changes weekly and characters who die come back to life.

Two words spring to mind, the 1st one rhymes with hiss and the second word is poor.
