Games Workshop Top 25 Models Countdown
« on: March 10, 2008, 06:09:08 PM »
http://uk.games-workshop.com/warhammer/25miniatures/25/

Thought it would be entertaining to watch, although only one model is currently up there it is indeed a nice looking model

And knowing the rest of the site we can spend the entire time complaining about their picks

I'm going to enjoy following this thread and the website. I always enjoy these kinds of things.

Crom isn't the best by far (naturally as its at 25) but it is a very nice model.
The greatest form of control which can go on forever until it is exposed is a tyranny you can't see, touch and taste (unlike totalitarian Govts). When you sit in a prison cell but can't see the bars, because people don't rebel against not being free when they think they're are.

Interesting.  Crom is nice and all, I hope someone has the sense to put some Mordheim models in there...

Doesn't appear to be the final list, but rather the models they are selecting for voting purposes once complete.  So Crom isn't necessarily #25.  I thought he might make a good Northern Army General...

Crom is nice, but since he beat Grimgore, he has been my least favorite special character.

I hope the Greater Deamon of Tzeetch is in there, that model is freaking awesome.

It will only be character and monsters that make the list some of their other good RnF won't make it in I am sure so I know my favorite models won't be in.

I hope you aren't right, but I have a feeling you're correct.

Wait, if crom is only at 25, there must be a lot of killer models I haven't heard of.

Jes Goodwin scores first blood. I'd hope he has a lot of sculpts in the top 25, as well as both Perrys.

I'm curious how far back they will go for the favorites -- I notice there's the disclaimer about lack of molds disqualifying some. (Does that mean they will be casting up the favorite/s?)

I do not want to be a cynic, but I would not be supprised to see expensive, new models high up on this list as a way to encourage you to buy them.

I almost dare to bet Midaski's old hat that one of the top 5es is going to be one of the new daemon models / and or one of the newest models for the newest released/soon to be released armies.

Here is hopeing they don't go all nostalgic and over represent the Bedford boys.  They produced some of the worst models ever (EVER).

I didn't really like the Crom model.  Wasn't he just a modified version of the normal undivded lord on foot?

Belkor.... all the way.

Some of the Warhammer Quest models were darn stonky - The Imperial Noble is possibly my favourite model ofall time . . . .

There's a few that I've always loved,

The Dwarf Thane with his chin on the axe and beard flowing down.
The OOP Keeper of Secrets.
The RT era all metal Space Orks (20 to a box), but I love the cigar chomping one the best!
Those Grass Faire Spellsingers
The Female Ogre Maneater
The oop Ninja Assassin

I vote for running our own favorite, but not limited to Empire only.  I'm sure Midaski can provide photo's of anything we can't link to.....

Can we make this happen>

I always thought the old Life Elemental model was a stand out classic! I've seen some awesome conversion done with it over the years.

I agree that Crom is one of the best Chaos models ever. I think he just exudes that chaos goodness.

Man, look how old Mr. Priestly is!
