I concur. I do believe that you can be friends with an ex, but only after the romantic feelings and the accompanying feelings of jealousy have died off.

I actually skipped that phase, deliberately since it's often the downfall of many divorced men. I just swore off women for six months, and I'm taking things very slowly with my girl, because I don't want her to be just a rebound. I'm over my ex, but it's natural to have lingering feelings of jealousy, even after you've stopped feeling romantic feelings toward them. Therapy is good stuff.

nah the "rebound phase" isnt so much having a rebound so much just having your bounce back. When my ex no longer enters my mind, my phase will be over. Hell having a new girl can speed this up very quickly, but there's currently none on my radar.

Ah, I understand ya. Yeah, I (on the advice of my therapist) went through my rebound phase without even trying to pursue any women, because they tend to complicate the rebound phase. Many guys fall for the rebound chick way too easily because they're trying to fill the void left by their dead marriage. I desperately wanted to avoid that mistake, and I think I'm in the clear now. I want to fall in love and get married again, but I'm in no hurry.
