Canadian singer and songwriter Kathleen Edwards is out with a new album ... Total Freedom ... and here is an album release show ...

Been listening to this lady since her first album in 2003 called Failer ... full of feeling, gritty, sexy, truthful songs.

She lives here in Stittsville (hometown) and has a cafe called quitters. She quit the scene for awhile and has now made a new album.
There is a great Christmas song that became an instant golden oldie. Not sure if that’s on the album or was released separately last Christmas. When we were there, dogs lay about the place and a lady who road a horse from China to Europe and now across North America. Was out back with the horse lol.

Sì dolce è il tormento

Sì dolce è il tormento che in seno mi sta
ch'io vivo contento per cruda beltà...
nel ciel di bellezza s'accreschi fierezza et manchi pietà
che sempre qual scoglio all'onda d'orgoglio mia fede sarà...

La speme fallace rivolgami il piè
diletto né pace non scendano a me

So sweet is the torment

So sweet is the torment that lies in my heart,
that I live happily from its cruel beauty...
in Heaven's beauty fierce pride may grow bold without pity
but always my faith will be a rock against that wave of pride

May false hope turn back from me
may neither delight nor peace descend upon me
and the cruel woman I adore deny me merciful relief;
amidst infinite pain, amidst broken hope, my faith shall survive...

(From fire and ice I will find no repose;
only at the gate of Heaven shall I find repose...
should the deadly strike of an arrow injure my heart,
my heart shall heal by changing my lot with that [same] arrow of death)

If that unyielding heart that has captured mine
has never felt the flames of love,
if the cruel beauty that enthralled my soul denies me pity,
may she well, pained, repenting, languishing, pass a sigh for me one day.
It is not enough to have no ideas of your own; you must also be incapable of expressing them.

A new project from a pal of mine, this combines the rarely-meeting worlds of hip hop, violin and choose-your-own-adventure gaming.

No, honestly, it does - check it out.

A month or two ago, I noticed that my new electric lawn mower's power button looked like a green coffin.

I dubbed it the Gothmower and since usually listen to music while mowing the lawn, I started trying to dredge up some sort of gothy music for a soundtrack for my yard work. The first week was the obvious (it seemed) starting point -- Bauhaus. That was awful.  ::heretic::

I'm currently (more successfully) fueling my yard work with Alien Sex Fiend. :::cheers:::

On that whole journey, I also discovered that there's a Hawkwind song I can actually get into. Theoretically I should like them... They're like the founders and ancestors of several of my favorite sub-genre. But so far this is the only one I like. (I credit the Lemmy.) https://youtu.be/HdTFeW8FCto

Oh that is a bit humorous that the button for turning on a lawn mower is shaped like a coffin. :icon_lol:

I'm imagining cutting lawn to this music ... Vampire Masqurade, a waltz ...

This is an oldie but goodie. The Safety Dance - by Men without Hats. A Montreal group I think.. 1982. The story behind it was that it was alright and safe to dance 😺

That looks like a necron symbol! Maybe an idea for a new unit for the Necrons?

I've been listening to Hollan Holmes. On loop. Lots of it. For weeks now.

Is this good? Is this bad? I don't know.

You should check out the band "Woodkid". They have some pretty bad ass rhythms and give their sound a medieval touch. My Favorit song is "Iron" and the music video is totally worth watching it.
