Raging Heroes scale/size?
« on: October 25, 2012, 12:33:43 PM »
I hope I didn't post it in the wrong section.
Raging Heroes are planning to make fantasy versions of these girls - http://www.ragingheroes.com/collections/complete-collection/products/kurganovas-sf , so I thought about buying some of them for my empire army.
The only problem is, I'm planning to build my army using miniatures from historical ranges, like Perry Miniatures and Warlord Games.
So the question is - what scale are those girls (assuming that their fantasy variations will be same in size as sci-fi versions)? Do they fit well in a "true 28mm" scale of historical ranges, or they are more like GW "heroic 28mm" scale?

Legs that make up 2/3th of total height - Check
Big boobs that are barely contained by clothing - Check
Skimpy tight clothing - Check

Can't say I'm a big fan of these. Too much nerdy gaming geek fan service miniature here. I hope their fantasy versions will be a bit more realistic/ mature in mind but I doubt it.

To be honest it looks fairly silly.

Would be interesting for a 40k IG army, but those weapons like rather modern to fit in Fantasy, unless you plan to do a bit of kit bashing?

OP says they are planning for a Fantasy (as in, fantastical rather than, well . . .) As they stand now, they are perfect as IG Commissars or Officers, provided one accepts a certain ludicrousness to female costuming . . .

They are no worse than many other models out there - it is just models like that aren't seen in Warhammer and 40K all that much.

Here's WIP art for one of them:

She looks, well, a little bit more modest then her sci-fi version, I guess. Still, lots of fan service though.
The main problem is this entry on her page in the shop: "29mm from floor to eyes". So she's too tall after all. Not a problem, since I've found more size-suitable and less "fanservice"-y alternative.

My mate has some of their Blood Vestals to add to his Dark Elf army. They are a very similar size and shape to his GW dark elves, maybe a little slimmer if anything. Raging Heroes seem to do fantasy and SF versions of all their minis. If you are a fan of barely clad female minis in ridiculous heels, I'd recommend them to you. I've got one of their heroes for my VC army, and would certainly consider them for a Slaanesh army if I wanted one. Which I don't, but, you know, if I did...

Ooh, someone just posted the fantasy concept, I quite like the Witch Hunter actually.

I think the larger scale could work in Warhammer - they would look like tall girls in improbable hooker heels.

Seriously - look at the spikes on that tart; she's rocking another 3mm easy. She's going to stand out, but not so much you would think she was a different scale. If you put her on a thiner base (a piece of 1.5mm plasticard rather than a 3mm slotta) and made sure the figures next to her were not particularly short, she would look just fine.

I must admit; I could be tempted to include those models in my next Empire army (whose initial date for purchases and planning is set at Easter 2013 :) )

Seems Legit.

I imagine a little bit of lace or cloth could be covering the majority of her, ahem, attributes if needed, even for one as clumsy with greenstuff as I am. I actually have more of an issue with her tongue hanging out like that. As if she were getting off on shooting somebody. Which to be fair, in the Warhammer world, isn't too far out of the imagination I suppose. (Not counting Slaneesh)

The tongue is ludicrous fanservice - moreso than her figure or dress.

Makes her look like an idiot, having to aim with her tongue out, wtf?!
Then make three times that. It should be enough for half the roof Glue

Assuming these are plastic or resin, cutting the tongue out shouldn't be too hard. I actually like the sculpt overall, but don't use witch hunters.

Wow, I actually like the sniper fantasy sculpt (though good luck keeping on target when you're wearing that kind of footwear while on any sort of softer soil).

Pretty much standard procedure when firing the bazookas that are GW handguns.
