Question about trading (Dosn't belong in trade section)
« on: June 07, 2006, 03:54:02 PM »
A while back, someone mentioned something like Trading Village or something along those lines for hobby traders.  I was wondering what website they where refering to?  I've been though ebay and stuff, got a couple things but they don't always have what I'm looking for, and I'm trying to see what other sites charge for Fees before I sell anything of mine.

You're probably looking for Barter town.

Yes thats the one.  Thanks!  Sorry to clutter up your Tavern but the trade section dosn't seem very active on a day to day basis.

I have been thoroughly disappointed by Bartertown myself. Over the past few years I have posted a few adverts but never even received as much as a reply, let alone a deal. I've had far better response on this site and other army-specific sites than I've ever received in Bartertown. Just my own, limited and quite unscientific experiences though.
EDIT: see Africa for more examples ...

Yeah, Fafnir, what were you posting?  Pantomine horse knights made with Free Company legs?

(Just kidding)

Definitely for general trading.. I've had the most luck on Bartertown, bar-none.  I already have a pretty high rating there.

Well, back in the day I posted some Dwarfs, and among other things an entire army of Space Wolves. Not as much as a reply...I was probably just unlucky though, but suffice to say, when I wanted to get rid of my Ork army I went to The-Waaagh.com and had great success. Didn't even bother to try Bartertown. It's also a bit of satisfaction knowing I sell or trade to people who's actually going to use the miniatures and not just trade them on.
