Nah. He's just as tough, but puts out less damage. Anything wanting to assault him will kick his ass with or without his claws. He'll be doing an average of 2 wounds a turn to a tactical squad with his claws, striking after the grenades.. he's pretty bad in assault! WS3 means he's going to get his arse handed to him by PF/PC attacks, other dreads will love his I3 as well. I don't rate him in assault at all.

210 points for a MoT double butcher cannon is wild expensive but the 8x str 8 shots rerolling 1's is pretty nice. Shame about the range though.

If he had AV13 on the front instead of that useless bonus point at the back (way less impressive for walkers than other vehicles), or DCCWs instead of those claws, or WS/I4, then I might rate him...

I still bought one of course. And some skin wolves for my VC army.

Crazy is a good rule since the FAQ Philly. Now it only shoots things in your front arc, meaning providing you place him in a reasonable place, the shooting is only ever a good thing. Running forwards is a bit meh still, but as long as you kept a combat arm, you are still full of win.

I love forgeworld. My Ork biker boss just arrived today and he is absolutely HUGE. Also one of the XV9 special commanders came. He looks awesome too.

GW missed a trick in my opinion by not making this a Chaos Knight. To my mind, it's not a Daemon Engine at all, but then I view Daemon Engines from the perspective of Epic, not 40K (they have no place in regular games of 40K in my opinion, since they are [or should be] simply too large).

The model itself is okay, although it's a bit too much like a glorified Dreadnought for my tastes.

I echo this Philly. Forge world make absolutely brilliant models. If I could afford it, I would buy all the models for my armies from Forge World and ignore Games Workshop entirely. That is not to say Games Workshop make bad models, it is more that I think Forge World make exceptional ones, far by the best I have bought.

It's cheaper as an Aussie to buy forgeworld than go to an Aussie GW store. I buy a lot of forgeworld, the quality is so high.

I have been buying mine from a guy in Russia. I think it is the same thing with him, it is cheap for him to buy and he then sells it to the US at like 20% off retail and still makes a profit.

His selection is limited though.

I bought a another Relic Contemptor Deadnought from the Russian guy for $30. From GW it would have cost me $50. I bought a Plague drone and a nurgle sorcerer for $39 and $13 rather than $62 and $21. Plus shipping is only $5 plus $1 per additional model. Quite a bit cheaper! Though again, they have a limited selection.

I think thats cheaper than I can buy them for in the UK Philly! Depending on exchange rate obviously, but it certainly looks cheaper.
