How come there is no complaints about this costume featuring pyjama-style tights, and there is so much hatred for the new State Troops? :)

Looks puffy to me.

Me too.

Nothing wrong with a little puffy...as long as it's only a little puffy.

This isn't an empire soldier. I can't see a single KF, and there's only one skull. And it's not even a real one.

Take a closer look, there is a twin-tailed comet on his left tasset. That is a very Empire symbol.

Nah, he's not from Stirland so shoes are easy to come by.

I honestly can't believe no guy in the picture is looking at that fine lass. Over-saturation of booth babes in these events?

Hahahahahahahahahaha...........

Oh man, sorry for resurrecting such an old thread but I spent at least ten minutes laughing reading it...

Fidelis von Sigmaringen wins the thread by getting it right. It is, in fact a Marius Leitdorf costume (or at least 2/3rds of one, there's been a lot of additions and alterations since SDCC on it).

If you peeps are interested I'll see about harassing the costumer for some updated photos (and to get a bigger codpiece).

Do I get the costume for winning the thread?  :engel:

Hmmm, if it's supposed to be Leitdorf, why is one of the feathers blue?

He should have blue and burgundy feathers believe, in addition to Black and Yellow. Burgundy and blue are the Leitdorf family colours IIRC.

I started looking at the other photos on the blog that was linked in the intial post ... the one with the overgrown boy scout and his big smile between two princess Leias, that cracked me up.  And does anyone know if the woman dressed in the supergirl costume is available?

Nice costume.  My only question is where is the rest of his sword?  It looks at least a meter short.

Who says Leitdorf has to fight with a greatsword? It may be a so-called 'bastard sword, whereby it can be used with either one or both hands yet is not a 'proper' zweihander....

But his Runefang is still nearly 2 metres long in Warhammer scale.

@Fidelis, Hah, you'll have to argue that prize with the costumer, they put a lot of hours into that one.

@MrAbyssal and Gustavus, There actually is a larger version of that Runefang, but considering the three of us flew done from Canada for SDCC, between luggage fees and customs it was already enough of a pain without trying to drag the big one around. Although if you look at the mini, the Runefang is a big sword, but its not 2 metres.

Okay, I was exaggerating. I almost wrote 3m for the lolz. It's probably closer to 1.5m. Still pretty big.

As the costumer responsible, I approve of this thread too. Thanks for the feedback and the laughs! I can't un-see the side of that guy's face now either.

Like The Bearded Guy has pointed out, this has seen a lot of new additions since SDCC - added the sun to the breastplate, more feathers, puff-and-slash silk pants, etc. It's based predominately on the 2nd ed. miniature and descriptions in the lit. Feel free to shoot me a PM for construction details.

@MrAbyssal - You're right about the Leitdorf family colours being blue and burgundy. It needs certain things to make it recognizably Marius - the sun, the feathers, the runefang and long-bladed dagger, the silks, the black/yellow, the blue/burgundy, etc. Will post better pictures at one point with the new additions and giant-arse runefang (the smaller version is easier on crowded Con floors... parents don't like it when you make their kids bleed). And more stuff is in the works, including a codpiece of epic proportions.

For Marius it should be epic. You have to love Marius  :biggriin:
