Topic: Knights Panther Color Scheme

Hello,

So I'm in the process of expanding my Warhammer: The Old World army with a unit of Knights Panther.  I noticed that GW has changed (reverted?) the Knights Panther color scheme from the silver barding used in 6th edition to the blue barding depicted in The Old World books today.  I did a couple test miniatures.  Before I do another 6 of these, I was wondering, which do people prefer?

Pretty sure they went blue in 7/8th since it's like that in the uniform and heralsry book. Personally I've never liked the blue patch and would have preferred if it was all silver (armor + barding), showing blue only on the tassets, mantel, and the shield.
Like the old enemy within RPG artwork doesn't even have a hint of blue. The yellow glow from dusk matches far better with the panther pelts

Knights Panther still had silver barding in the 7th edition army book.  The 8th edition book only showed a single Knight Panther, and you're right, the barding is blue!  The Uniform & Heraldry guide depicts both color schemes, albeit with different trim.

Is the Enemy Within artwork the old John Blanche painting?  If not, is there a picture of it on the internet you could point me to?

I do mean the John blanche painting, though this is the first time I noticed that the horse has no bardings!
Tho my point remain the same that if the barding was a bit golden from reflection , it would fit better with the pelts

found this box of old 4/5E KPs and turned out they had blue bardings too! From now on I'm gonna say the KPs paint their bardings however they like

This is a tough one for me. Before I looked at the pictures I was going to blurt out 'silver with gold trim all the way', but having looked at your models I must say I like them both. Ultimately I think your first model with silver with blue and gold trim is the more visually interesting of the two, but it's close.

Maybe blue for regular, silver with trim for IC?

Frankly, I think they both look excellent. I had the same conundrum before I painted mine, but I went for the all blue barding in the end.

If I was doing Knights Panther, then I would give a metal look to regular knight, blue paint to Inner Circle.

However, if one unit only, I might mix up the painting to represent different knights with different preferences.

And your painting on those two, makes me want to get back to painting my units ... Golden Lions are table top ready, Knight's of the Aver River are probably 80% done, and need to start my Knights of the Black Bear.
