Could Wood Elves be next army after High Elves?
« on: April 23, 2013, 08:07:25 PM »
So I went to the GW site to download the newest FAQs and errata. When doing so I noticed that two FAQs were not updated while all the rest were. Those two are High Elves and Wood Elves. It's pretty well know that High Elves are coming with in the next few weeks so its understandable that they didn't waste effort updating their old FAQ. That leaves me to wonder, are Wood Elves getting a new army book next? Makes one say "Hmmmmmmmm...."

Hardly. We will have to wait until the very, very end of this edition. That is standard practice with Wood elves.  :icon_wink:

They just do not bother anymore.
Oh, and remember GW made it personal, not you!

It's probably just an indication of how little they care, rather than an impending investment in them.

Or the worst possibly that they get eaten by Tyranids and the few survivors flee back to Ulthuan....

I am optimistic that they will get a new armybook and some new models.

I think it means something. In the AirForce there is a classification rating for unclassified but sensitive information. It is called EEFI, Essential Elements of Friendly Information, primarily a part of operational security. If an enemy agent can't find out specific classified information, unclassified but sensitive information can give them information about classified information. The classic example they give in our security training is duty rosters. If the enemy can gain access to a duty roster, which are generally posted in fairly common areas, and see that on a particular day all the pilots in a unit are scheduled to fly, that gives valuable information that a likely classified attack mission is going to happen on that particular day. That's why we had yearly security training covering OPSEC, TRANSEC, and PHYSEC and they emphasized always being security aware.

I think it is an unintentional information leak, I don't believe it is coincidence. I find it hard to believe that there weren't any questions that needed answering for the Wood Elves, but except for the High Elves who's book will be released in just a few weeks, there were questions that needed answering for all the other armies and the BRB. Maybe it could be misinformation, but I doubt it.

Also; they just re-released Daemons and Warriors didn't they? These two armies have a synergy of style - the same could be said for the two different flavors of "good" Elves. They might release them one after the other.

Are there any ongoing rules questions for Wood Elves?  Maybe they just didn't need an update.

Sure it could be possible there were no updates for them, but every other book had at least one update/question, most had two or more. I find it highly unlikely that there were no questions that need to be answered for them. I'm pretty sure that if you go over to asrai.org, they have a pretty big list of questions that need answered.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I believe the rumours are Lizardmen, then Dark Elves, then Dwarfs?  I hope Woodelves show up unexpectedly like WoC did, but I don't hold much hope.
