I tried that guy last night and he raped me.  I may need to try that.

I got the Lightning mace and then went and killed darkbeast pearl.  Really wasn't that hard.  He mailed me the first time, but I had really just gone in to test him out.

I then killed the first super nasty gross boss in Yarglbargl.  First try, though I usedd up most of my vials.  The flame spitter works great.  Whale away until you run out of stamina then flame on!

I just managed to start playing again. Killed one of those snatcher guys, killed the Blood Starved Beast and Haenryk. Eileen died though. She only dropped her badge but it allows me to buy her weapon, just about to. I have good arcane, looking forward to it.

I died as Eileen and I were fighting Henryk.  He died during my death animation which makes me wonder if that's how my quest got all messed up!

Blood starved beast looked awesome eh?

Yeah, that was a great boss. Took a few tries to learn, but was never frustrating. Didn't end up using fire paper, just parry and visceral. Finished it with a gun shot, was pretty cinematic just gunning it down. I was level 28, using my trusty +3 Saw Blade.

I am way over leveled for a couple things I left out of fear.  Pearl wasn't too hard at level 78

WooooO!

Finally got out of Silver.
Now I can say "I am vaguely competent occasionally" instead of "I straight up suck at CS".

Think I'll go to Hemwick next.

I'm not sure if I'm over or under levelled. I don't feel super strong, but not too weak either.

Got addicted to Payday 2. This game is awesome and rekindled my love for multiplayer. Also it's an anti-grinder and that's always a plus.
Check out my wargaming blog "It always rains in Nuln". Reviews, rants and a robust dose of wargaming and RPG fun guaranteed. ;)

Witch of Hemwick has got to be the easiest boss of the entire series! Didn't even use a single vial on the kill. Area before her is plenty hard though!

Still have to kill Amelia.

Just went through Unseen Yarglbargle, not sure if there was any point since I just ended up back at the (now broken) Hypogean Gaol lantern.  Also, this area was a massive spike in difficulty due to endlessly respawning super-buffed enemies.  The trick is to try to run past them all to find the chime maiden controlling them and kill her quick, then they just go back to being normal enemies.  But there are about four different mobs to get through and, as I said, there didn't seem to be any point to it.  I got a few chunks and a helmet that I'll never wear, can't remember if there was anything else of worth.

You at the chapel now?

Sig:  I died the first time I fought the witches.  I got confused initially, since I had not read anything about them.  I was fighting those wraith things and happened to run into the first witch.  I realized at that point that those nasty girls were the ones I should kill!  After killing the first I saw the second but it was too late!  Got them the second try though.

The Nightmare zones are amazingly cool.

Oh wait that's right, there was a key in there.  I believe it opens the door at the top of the abandoned workshop, so I'll try up there.

I died the first time on the witches because I got hit by the paralysis, then the witch scurried up and killed me. The second time, I remembered that the second witch appeared without a health bar while the first was still alive, and didn't cast paralysis until the first died. So I just killed the one without the health bar, then the one with the bar. No paralysis, never even got hit. Flawless.

Amelia is a different story! I really struggle with the big bosses and camera angles. I've had two goes at her, and she doesn't actually seem that hard. Sure it will only be a couple more. Blades of Mercy are starting to do collossal damage when dual wielded.

I totally agree with Brad that the hunter npcs are the hardest mobs in the game. Appropriate really, hunters are badass.

Amelia's church is full of statues of Cthulu monsters. Seems like the Church is a front for this Celestial worship. This game is absolutely blowing Dark Souls away for me.

This games atmosphere is amazing.

I love how it starts off victorian gothic with beasts and is slowly going batshit lovecraftian insanity. Just killed the witches of Hemwick and am getting lost in the fucking VAST Forbidden Forest.

It's just so well crafted, and I'm not at all into Lovecraft. But this really is so much more atmospheric and engaging than the previous entries in the series for me.

It's amazing how many of the game's characters are involved with what's going on behind the scenes, and how crazy it all gets.

The statues at the Vicars cathedral are awesome and make more sense as time passes.

Now, the mummies in Yarglebargyl are about fifty shades or what the fuck...

I had great fun when I got kidnapped by a Snatcher and taken to the Unseen Village...

It turned into my farm zone before I killed Amelia.

I only farmed in there a little bit. The prison hags and solo snatchers were pretty easy, but I sure wasn't up to taking on two snatchers at once.

That's what the hags are for. Pebbles to pull Snatchers solo.  :-D

transistor is really fun. Little steam rpg made by same people who did Bastion. Cool semi turn based combat.
I don't care about the rules.

Pass the machete.

Bloodborne does feel much deeper, more responsive, and crazy.  I did like the lone knight versus the world feel of Dark Souls too though.  And discovering cool armor and weapons.

What genre is it? Straight action adventure or is there a RPG component as well?

Hmm. I really like how it looks, but action games aren't quite my genre. A shame.
