Total War Trailer Proper Warhammer

Saw this trailer today.  Sums up what I wish to play with my miniatures:

Too bad I have to give my money to a computer store now instead of GW.

Haha, I actually shouted "for the Empire! " when the demigryphs charged. :biggriin:

That was epic, can't wait to see the whole game. :smile2:

Seeing that just makes me wonder what GW were thinking with Age of Sigmar. Totally bizzare timing and a totally bizzare move that will in all likelihood be looked at the event that sunk the company.

As for the game I'm looking forward to it with reservations. I haven't enjoyed a Total War game since Medieval 2. Empire and Shogun 2 were a bit dull and Rome 2 had an awful launch and didn't improve much after that. Also the last good Warhammer Fantasy Battle computer game I played was Shadow of the Horned Rat so there's a bit to be wary of  :-o

I like to think of it as a prudent and temporary halt to avoid getting crushed.

But yeah, that's a cool vid.

It fits perfectly with gw policy of licensing old games for video games. Mordheim, blood bowl, now fantasy.

The launch of aos won't sink gw, they wouldn't have done it unless fantasy made no money
I don't care about the rules.

Hey, Karl Franz is a badass!

I hope this game is awesome when it comes out, if anything age of Sigmar has only increased my desire for this.

I've just seen the trailer - I have to say that I'm very excited now.

Also It's a nice change of setting for a Total War game - The tried and tested formula was starting to get a little stale for me.

Indeed, this is the epic warhammer we know and love. :smile2:

Fingers crossed for a Bretonnian trailer of this quality in the future.

Haha,  I've been following the total war sites on this project for months now, I give them details on the warhammer world, and their reaction was as expected.  About ten comments on the epicness of the trailer then about four pages worth of complaints on graphics, helblaster parabolic trajectory,  halberdier equipment, units having the slightest twitch in animation and that Karl Franz should be with the Reiksguard and not on foot. :-P

Me neither,  I was just saying how obsessed that lot is about those kinds of things. Makes dealing with people on these forums easy in comparison.  :-D

I have never had a computer powerful enough to run any of the Total War series.  What about the system?  Any good 'reviews' that show gameplay and such?  I know there will be hundreds of units per side, but does the system lend to tactics (flanking, holding ground, land positions of interest, fortifications, etc.).  I'm saving up to buy a better computer as we speak.  Hope it is worth it.

I have played every total series title and the answer to your question is yes yes and more YES YES YES!!!

Essentially the campaign map is all turned based but the battles are real time. You manage you family lines, trade, diplomacy, agents (spies, priests, champions and the like) research and upgrade your technology etc etc.

Battlewise there have been some complaints about the AI, however, it was really just wish siege battles and with Attilia it was MUCH improved!! Espeically with the expansion, The Last Roman even the AI on the campaign map has seen quite a lot of improvements. CA has done a good job with all of their historical titles and this is the VERY FIRST time they have delved into anything that wasn't historical based so its a big leap for them same with magic and flying creatures. Though I am very excited for this title and keeping up with the developers are listening to the community and apparently GW gave them two of each model type so if you haven't noticed they are almost dead on with the current models.
