Great looking army. Hadn't seen it for a while and I am liking the whole lighting effect thing. And that witch hunter looks mean!  8-)

Since i am pass my monthly obsessing with other warhammer armies (this time i was contemplating building a daemon army....) i can finally continue on my witch hunter project!

I have put my painted swordsmen, spearmen and handgunners up for sale, and bought 2x20 swordsmen, 10xhandgunners, and some more from a guy. the good thing is that all models are assembled and ready for paint. although i maybe should take some time removing mold lines :P

Well.. i also purchased some custimizable movement trays and the 'walls and fences' scenery box from GW. I am going to make themed movement trays that fit the dark sylvanian witch hunter with light effects on them too :)

anyways, here are movement trays for 18 flagellants (with fence and tree), 25 swordsmen (wall and tree + fence) and 20 greatswords (wall and fence)

I am also thinking about adding small patches of sand on all bases of the army and paint it brown so i dont have to make cobblestone on the trays. not sure though..

Let me know what you think

the greatswords are finally done and so are the movement trays for most of my units.
I need to paint 3 more movement trays, and i've been putting cobblestones (cardboard) on my handgunner unit.
I've also just begun converting another wizard with a pet (a bat! more into the theme it cant get!) - i know they are some nasty mold lines but he is still WIP :).

Furthermore i've been thinking of how my knights shall look, and i came up with the idea of making them out of marauder horsemen horses and flagellants. this way they will fit the village 'crazed' look of the army. sadly they isnt that much armour on the horses and i dont dare sculpting any. the unit will be made jumping over a wall for a more dramatic look..

Please let me know what you think

First of all: that wizard rocks! :eusa_clap: can't wait to see him painted.

Secondly, doesn't the greatsword unit need some more yellow light? And they look a tad to bright ? It could just be the picture or me though.. I don't know about the banner symbol, it is very well painted, but why would they have candles on their banner?

I know, I know: I'm being negative.. But why should I tell you how great all the other things are, you already know that

You are right, they are very bright looking, but that is just the picture - they are really dark actually.
Well, i cant tell you why, but... they need light to see in the dark of sylvania :P Also, i just wanted some torches somewhere on the unit, and it was a retty obvious place. I was thinking of adding more yellow shine on the greatswords, but the torch is pretty high up compared to the torch of my detachments.. Thanks for pointing it out though - i will most likely change it now :)

The movement trays and wizard are excellent. Is it the lighting that is making the bases of the minis look that bright. If not, it might help to wash them to make them darker. They seem a bit distracting, pulling attension away from the mini.

I would say its the light from the window behind the camera. But maybe i should wash the bases with badab black for a bit darker look anyway. Thanks soren!

I've been active today; i've cut out and glued cardboard cobblestone on the rest of the models that needed it; 25 swordsmen and 10 crossbowmen. Furthermore i've begun painting the handgunners; here are some of them. I think it went pretty well :)

Thanks for looking

Neffy, looking good! You are moving along like a man possessed. ::heretic:: Btw, how much are you thinning your white and flesh colors?

The wizard is awesome, and matches the theme of the army perfectly.  However, I'm wondering why you didn't give him the torch staff.

The wizard is ace! I'm going to steal your idea for the head swap, it really gives him a mysterious look.
