Eng vs Wales.

No one else in the office cares.

My boss said i can watch it, using my discretion. So I'll nip to the SU bar for a pint and a watxh I reckon!

Svk beating Russia... puts it inability to beat them in context I think.

"Oh we played well but drew" could be consolation in a 38 game season, but fairly irrelevant in a 7 game tournament
I don't care about the rules.

Pass the machete.

I will probably have the ESPN ticker going but that's about it.  Was going to maybe watch it in someone else's office who is from England but I've got stuff to do today.

I rather hoping that Slovakia and Russia would draw, so England can beat Wales and then both win their last games and both go through.

However with England nothing is certain - they should have beaten Russia convincingly - I forecast 3-1 and with the chances created and the domination it should have been.

I think Hodgson got his substitutions wrong against Russia - he brought on defensive Milner when he should have gone for Vardy. Russia saw the shore-up move and pressed forward - if Vardy had been on, they would have been worried about being caught on the break.

On a more worrying note, why is Payet playing so bloody well?????
He'll be a target for transfer and dirty rotten clubs will try to steal him from West Ham.   :engel:

Even though I am working from home, I have taken the day off - don't want to feel guilty or be interrupted.  :biggriin:

Now that I no longer need to serve drunken people more alcohol, I wholeheartedly want England to thrash Wales so hard they just fire everyone involved on the Welsh side.
I thought he should act responsibly and just kill himself.

From the BBC Live Coverage:   "wonder what has happened to Roy Hodgson in recent weeks? He really went for broke at half-time there and threw forwards on all game. He's turned into Kevin Keegan."

No it wasn't - the ball came off Ashley Williams so he plays Vardy onside.

Now I wonder if Hodgson had stuck Vardy on against Russia when he took Sterling off - as I suggested earlier - what might have happened.
Sterling is useless, and vastly overrated in my opinion.

Still now England and Wales can both qualify - I fancy Wales to beat Russia.
You never know with England - they could still blow it against Slovakia, and Wales and Slovakia could both have 6 points and England come third with 4.  :engel:

Agreed.  Really inexcusable not to bring Vardy on last match.  Didn't he even have a spare sub unused?

My line manager said i could take lunch from 2-3, then flexi from 3-4 (normally have to be in work at least for core hours, 10-12 and 2-4) as long as I was discrete.
Had 1.5 pints. my colleague who sits next to me looked mad when I strolled in at 3.55!

England have dominated both games. Which is not bad. Fragility at leaking daft goals (which we knew they would). They need to put some more chances away against better teams. Still hopeful we'll win one knockout game, I think the squad is actually not half bad this year.

Sterling is apparently only in the squad because he cost 50 million.
He's been by far the worst player in both games. I hope He starts sturridge next game, bring on rashford for the last 20. Sterling shouldnt play again.
I don't care about the rules.

Having vastly overrated players play in your national team, seemingly only based on how much money they make and not their actual current performance?

Sounds like the Dutch team to me.  :icon_lol:

Major reason why we didn't get to play this time IMO.

It would be so funny if Germany did an "England"  - losing to Northern Ireland and not getting through to the next round ............................

Might make up for that Frank Lampard "goal" ...........................  :engel:

Still bitter? Blimey.

Poland is a good team and it was an okay-ish result. Nobody could expect great results after the mediocre performance in qualification.

Hey, he sang the anthem so enthusiastically during the game! And I guess he's still seething because the Germans present during that game were not sympathetic enough, simply saying "get over it, you were losing anyway."

And I guess Shavixmir lounging in an armchair, saying "if that referee moved to Scotland, they'd build him a statue..." didn't help either.
 :-D
I guess we might have been a bit smug.
Sorry.... but it felt SO GOOD...

Yeah... it was simply boring because both offenses seemed to be scratching their heads all game, saying "no idea how to get through that, let's occasionally try some standard stuff. But not commit too hard, because the OTHER offense is really good." It just seemed a rather... timid? game overall.

Beat the group winners, draw with third and fourth.

Totally dominate three games, score three goals.

Rule No. 3 of international football: the performance of the Italian national team is inversely proportional to the quality of the Italian squad.

Amazing achievement. And Buffon is still playing.
